One of the Decepticons introduced in the Transformers animated movie, Cyclonus serves as Galvatron's almost-always loyal second in command through the movie and for the rest of the original cartoon's run. Considering how fickle Galvatron is and how eager most of the other Decepticons are to betray him, this loyalty can be more than a bit surprising at times. After all, Cyclonus is more stable and smarter than Galvatron, so wouldn't he be the better leader?
Like most of the Transformers introduced in the movie, Cyclonus has a goofy futuristic-ish alternate form not based on any specific real-life equivalent. In Cyclonus's case, his alternate mode is a futuristic space jet that anyone with even a shaky grasp of basic aerodynamics can tell would never, ever fly on Earth. No one really comments on this in the show, for some reason.
Cyclonus can be a bit hard to find intact. Not only are some of his weird joints a little more vulnerable to breakage than most, he also hasn't been rereleased any time recently.
