The television show of the fifties called Roy Rogers, had television viewers wanting items that related to the show. The Roy Rogers thermos that came with the metal lunchbox, decorated in the television theme was a popular item then, and still is today. Several different scenes cover the lunchboxes and thermos that collectors can choose from, made by companies such as American Thermos Bottle Company.
Scenes would include Roy, Trigger, Dale, Buttermilk and Bullet. Some versions are more difficult to find. For example, the yellow-sky double bar ranch thermos is harder to find than the blue-sky thermos.
