Every television series, regardless of the style or genre, needs a leading man. So in the case of the 1960s science fiction show, Lost In Space, it turned out to be actor Guy Williams. William played Professor John Robinson. On the series, Professor John Robinson is an astrophysicist who specializes in applied planetary geology. As the crew’s commander, and leader of the Robinson family, Lost In Space Professor John Robinson was always known as a steady, stable, and calming influence - regardless of the situation.
Prior to landing the role on Lost In Space, Williams is best known for his swash-buckling role in the 1950s TV series, Zorro, where he played the title role. Williams passed away in May of 1989, at the age of sixty five.
