Zoar has been depicted as both male and female. This character is actually a falcon. This bird was introduced, in chronological order, first in a minicomic, then in a DC comics miniseries, and then finally in the Masters of the Universe series. Zoar has also had a couple of conflicting roles as well. In the minicomic, the bird was a male, and belonged to He Man.

The DC Comics depicted Zoar as a both male and female. It serves primarily as a messenger of the Goddess. When she needs He Man, she summons the bird to bring him. Finally, in the Masters of the Universe series, Zoar is a female. The falcon's role in the series is that of an alternate form of the Sorceress.
