The "nerdiest" of the Ghostbusters, Egon is also the most socially awkward of the Ghostbusters crew. Despite his problems fitting in socially, he does have a strong, dry sense of humor that comes out at times.
Egon isn't just a theoretical scientist but also a tinkerer and inventor, having created most of the Ghostbusters equipment including both their proton packs and the storage facilities they use to hold busted ghosts.
In the cartoons, Egon is the sole original Ghostbuster to maintain regular status move from "The Real Ghostbusters" and "Slimer!" to "Extreme Ghostbusters", in which he serves mostly as a mentor figure and technical advisor for a new group of Ghostbusters.
As with the other Ghostbusters, Egon has had a lot of different releases over the years. Some are available for very little even in mint condition, but others can run to over a hundred dollars.
