Scrabble is a board game that makes it truly possible to put all of those school years of spelling and vocabulary to use! The object of Scrabble is to form words on the Scrabble game board, either vertically or horizontally.
The Scrabble game board is a marked grid with special bonus squares interspersed throughout the board. Each letter tile gets a rating of points. Each letter gets a value that is dependent on how often the given letter is used in the coarse of normal speech patterns. The letters Q and Z are used less often than (for example) the letters A and E. Thus, Q and Z are worth more points when used to form a word in Scrabble than the more common A and E.
