Anthony E. Pratt invented Clue in the 1940s. Pratt called his game "Murder," which was changed to "Cluedo," and ultimately Clue. The strategy of Clue is for each player to go around the Clue game board and gather enough clues so they can solve the who, how, and where of the murder.
The Clue game board is the layout of a house which displays different rooms: kitchen, study, ballroom, conservatory, billiard room, dining room, hall, lounge, and the cellar with the solution envelope. There are hallways and secret passageways, also. The markers are different characters: Mrs. White, Miss Scarlet, Mr. Green, Professor Plum, Colonel Mustard, and Mrs. Peacock. The weapons are: revolver, rope, knife/dagger, candlestick, wrench, and lead pipe.
